What makes us unique, is that we take total responsibility for the waterproofing, controlling all aspects of it to ensure a successful outcome. We design, supply, install, guarantee, insure and maintain waterproofing in-house, so there are no split responsibilities. We have a 46 year trading history and have changed the waterproofing industry (twice).
From private clients to national housebuilders and tier-1 main contractors, Trace provides effective waterproofing solutions for new-build projects. Our experience in new construction is such that we have even been employed to re-write waterproofing technical manuals for new-build specific insurance companies, which the market now has to comply with to obtain cover.
We deal with listed buildings on behalf of private clients through to some of the largest estate owners in the UK. In conservation waterproofing it is important to take a holistic view and balance advice within the British Standard (which in some respects is to design for the worst case), against conservation considerations where the ideal is to minimise disturbance and preserve character. In our history we’re worked on 500+ listed buildings.
Trace are extremely experienced in this, having been one of the first specialist contractors to actively work for the structural insurers (NHBC, Premier Guarantees) dealing with failed basement waterproofing system claims, something which we’ve specialised in for the last 22 years. We can inspect, analyse, investigate and remedy your basement issues.
Much of what we do is through a commercial route, working in hand with Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and other construction Consultants. We are a Constructionline Gold accredited Contractor and have the resources to design for and implement large scale waterproofing on a subcontract basis.
Achieving a successful outcome with any podium deck (buried roof) waterproofing scheme, requires a very specific set of considerations at design and installation stage. Our experience with inspecting and remedying failed deck waterproofing, means that we are well placed to provide such systems.
Trace have 20 plus years experience serving homeowners in the conversion of wet basements and cellars, to dry habitable space. This work is often sold on the basis of glossy lifestyle photos, however of vital importance is a lasting dry environment backed by comprehensive documentation, guarantees and insurance, from a lasting company . Time and again we see property sales affected by troubled conversions.
Design is the single most important aspect of any waterproofing project. We are a design-led company. Our team of CSSW qualified and professional indemnity insured waterproofing designers, can produce proposals and costs from drawings or inspection, for installation by Trace site teams.

"I can highly recommend Trace. I rang to get a damp survey booked in on a property we were looking to buy. Lewis was very helpful over a couple of phone calls, even ringing back on a day off! Offered advice and help even though we didn't end up going through with the survey. Great service, will use again."
“Just had Trace in to deal with a fairly significant damp problem in our house. The work was completed to a very high standard in the timescale agreed before commencement. Really good communication throughout and the tradesmen were really professional. Left the house as tidy as possible every day and I’m made up with the outcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.”
