Waterproofing Consultants, Waterproofing Expert, Waterproofing Advice:
Our ability to undertake analytical investigations where problems of groundwater penetration occur is borne of our extensive experience in remedying failed waterproofing/tanking systems.  In such cases, one must always investigate to understand the structure, system and other factors of influence, which then allows the design of appropriate remedial solutions.

We only ever wish to give clients best advice and so would make the following comments to those that may be interested in our consultancy services, or those of other advisors:

-Investigative or analytical work is undertaken by management staff (see here for info).

-We cannot claim to be wholly ‘independent’, because regardless of however fair, reasonable and unbiased we act, ultimately we are commercial contractors, not independent waterproofing consultants and it could therefore always be argued that we are biased by this fact.

-If total independence is necessary, use a dedicated waterproofing consultant to investigate the issues in question.  Other independent construction consultants will in many cases take on work investigating all varieties of defects within structures, and are unlikely to be as experienced or knowledgeable as a dedicated waterproofing consultant or waterproofing expert, while often requiring equivalent investment.

-Our experience in structural waterproofing installation provides a somewhat unique practical perspective on the application of waterproofing designs, or in other words we have to install what we design (and more importantly provide long term guarantees on that installation), and so benefit from this experience, which may be limited where true independents are employed.

-We very much understand the implications of getting it wrong from the amount of contact that we have with those that suffer what is often a nightmare situation, and so are extremely risk averse.

Additional notes:

-Some independent surveyors promote themselves by denigrating specialist contractors as being biased by commercial interest, meaning that we/all contractors will over-specify (or under specify to win the work by giving a lower price, at unnaceptable client risk) and therefore ultimately waste client money, this being a stated reason to instruct an independent.

While unfortunately this is very much true in the case of some contractors, it is a very broad brush to tar each and every contractor in the land with. 

Conversely, we have experience of some independents recommending lean specifications which reduce costs, but leave poor client risks which we could not guarantee, and which may prove to be a false economy in the long term.

So, make of this what you will but there are costs and benefits associated with the use of either form of advisor.
