Dealing with Tanking or Waterproofing Failures..
A great deal of the work that we undertake is in the field of addressing failed waterproofing and tanking systems.
The process typically involves a site inspection, but we can also undertake ‘desk studies’ in the event that sufficient information can be provided for a given structure (i.e. provision of accurate design/construction drawings).
Once sufficient information is gathered we can produce a remedial waterproofing design, to provide a predefined standard of environment which is agreed via consultation with the client, while also considering the appropriate guidance on environmental grades listed within BS8102.
Different clients have different requirements in respect of the service which we can provide, for example we commonly undertake specialist waterproofing works only, where the associated general building works and project management are undertaken by other parties.
Note that Trace always take full responsibility for the design and execution of the waterproofing installation.
In other cases we can provide a design and build service where Trace take full responsibility for project management, undertaking the associated building works, setting up the site, managing the project, undertaking any statutory applications (street-works licences, building regulations application, listed building consent), organising any other specialist sub-contractors, and essentially providing a turn-key service to manage a remedial waterproofing scheme from initial analysis and design right through to completion and hand-over.
This turn-key service may be of interest either to the homeowner who wants speed of execution and minimal hassle, or to professional organisations that wish to avoid the traditional procurement route and costs associated with this, in addition to timely execution which ultimately results in happy end users and occupants.
You can see examples of remedial work on our case studies page.
