Basement & Cellar Water Control

Basement Water Control - Simplistic Common Sense Waterproofing.

Basement water control, (as opposed to full basement conversion) is the process of simply addressing issues of water penetration into below ground spaces.

Basic waterproofing systems can be designed and installed to prevent issues of standing water, or to address specific areas of dampness at lesser cost than the inclusion of full conversion systems.

Where such a service is required, we always design in a manner that allows future expansion of a system which typically allows clients to develop a space further if ever required.

It should be noted that a non-habitable basement or cellar space made dry by a basement water control system, remains a non-habitable basement or cellar space, because while it may be totally dry depending on options taken, for a true conversion to occur the system must comply with building regulations in respect of for example, ‘Part L Conservation of fuel and power’, with this requiring the inclusion of insulation within the wall and floor construction.

Subject to a building regulations completion certificate being issued on a basement or cellar conversion, this then certifies the change of use or conversion to habitable space.

See examples of basement water control projects in our case studies page.
