WATERPROOFING BELOW PAVEMENTS. THE BASEMENT SYSTEMSTM WAY

Back

The Albert Hall, Peter Street, Manchester, now Brannigan's Bar.

The basement extended below the pavements at both front and rear, with the columns seen supporting the external walls at the upper levels.

Water was penetrating through the ground retaining walls, through the flat soffit supporting the pavements and was running down the columns.

An angled soffit was formed using cavity drainage membrane, which lined the walls and columns as well, battened and plasterboarded over, all linked to Basement SystemsTM WaterGuardTM drainage channels.

Shenton Court, Brown Street, Manchester, a mixed commercial and residential development, with the area shown now a restaurant.

A similar situation to that shown above, water was running in from above, with Dry Rot infected the associated lining timber around the RSJ's present.

Once the Dry Rot was dealt with, cavity drainage membrane was used to line the walls, metal columns and soffit, the latter angled to send the water back to the walls to be similarly drained with Basement SystemsTM products.
